On March 17th artworxLA will host an evening of wine tasting mixer that supports current programming and creative careers opportunities for the young people we support.
artworxLA Board Member Grant and his wife Shaya Kirkpatrick have graciously offered to host this event by donating wines from their boutique vineyard, William Robert Estate Wines, located in Paso Robles, CA. William Robert Estate Wines are delicious, well-regarded, and quite hard to come by.
Hosted by artworxLA Board Member and sommelier, Lisa Kring, the evening will include a talk about the wines, charcuterie picnic boxes from Milkfarm, as well as a look into the amazing work of artworxLA and their students.

William Robert Wines are produced from the Split Rock Ranch Vineyard, the farthest west vineyard located in the coveted West Paso Robles AVA on California’s Central Coast. The wines possess the essential aspirations of the booming Paso Robles wine region, with the vineyard’s planting of Rhone and Bordeaux varietals in sandstone soils delivering low yields of quality fruit. Our winemaker’s highly selective approach results in authentic and structured wines that are dark, delicious and silky.

MEET THE WINEMAKER
Jeff Strekas is passionate about wine! As William Robert Estate’s Winemaker, he looks forward to sharing his winemaking process with artworxLA’s Wine Mixer event. Jeff was raised in small-town Connecticut. He has a degree in biochemical engineering and when he found that there were striking similarities to winemaking, he abandoned his other dream of becoming a CDC Virus hunter and made a bee line to UC Davis for his MS. He worked at Merryvale in St. Helena, Franciscan Estates in St. Helena, Roiund Pond Estate in Rutherford, Mollydooker in McLaren Australia and currently at Onx in Paso Robles. Recently, Jeff has been working with small boutique vineyards/clients like William Robert.
