The debut of Mastro's Steakhouse Chicago marks our second flagship location for Mastro's Restaurants LLC. Recognized for world-class service, acclaimed cuisine, and live entertainment, Mastro's Steakhouse Chicago occupies a prime 20,000 square foot, two-story, corner location in the upscale River North district.
KAA Design was engaged by Mastro’s to bring a holistic vision to the project through the integration of our interiors, architecture and signage and wayfinding expertise. The exterior palette of dark brown plaster walls, bronze signage, metal-framed canopies with striped fabric panels, and luminescent storefront windows contrasts dramatically with the predominantly limestone-colored adjacent buildings.
The grand foyer with its dark marble flooring, wood paneled walls and rich velvet drapery is akin to entering an exclusive club. The centerpiece of the restaurant is Mastro’s signature, "M Bar", with its marble back bar showcasing an extraordinary reflective liquor bottle display. Here guests can dine piano-side, at bustling high-top tables or private tufted-leather booths with gold-framed, floating backlit mirrors above. Dimly lit Venetian glass pendants and sconces highlight the wood wall paneling, bronze details and sumptuous furnishings.
Mastro's Steakhouse Chicago also offers two luxurious a la carte dining rooms - one located just beyond the M Bar and the other up the winding staircase on the second level. With both intimate table and banquette seating, the rooms are decorated with champagne colored silk draperies, rich wall coverings, contemporary Venetian glass chandeliers and bronze beaded walls with framed backlit mirrors. Four additional luxuriously appointed private dining rooms located on the second level accommodate a variety of functions and events. Overlooking Dearborn Street the rooms are lined with floor-to-ceiling wine walls and the latest audio/video systems. The largest room also features a full service private bar with tufted leather walls.
