Luxe Lake, China

Luxe Lake is a residential development of single-family homes and duplexes. Though large by most developer standards, Luxe Lake itself is only one piece of a massive new city under construction in southeastern China.

Wide Horizons Group came to KAA after seeing our work in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. In those densely packed seaside communities, KAA is adept at inserting multi-million dollar homes containing many luxury amenities, while preserving a sense of individual character and coveted privacy. We also know the value of an ocean view, and are able to deploy an array of design techniques to ensure that one’s proximity to the beach is always felt. At Luxe Lake, views of that immense and picturesque body of water are equally valued.

Though we worked within an initial master plan, KAA shared our assessment of how that plan could be improved to enhance a sense of community and activate the streets for a livelier pedestrian experience. Also, manipulation of the street orientations enabled us maximize the potential for views in all of the townhomes.

The climate in Chengdu, China is conducive to outdoor living – just like Southern California. Thus, the owner was eager for KAA to use its landscape design expertise to ensure that the gardens and interior spaces were seamlessly integrated and flowed freely back and forth. The results gave Luxe Lake the best of high-end lakeside living.
