In this dense, urban beach community walkstreet properties tend to build-up and seek the panorama of the Pacific Ocean from their top-floor main living levels. This penthouse living approach, combined with the clients' desire for flexible living and entertaining, led to a completely open top-level bungalow with seamless indoor and outdoor spaces.

Blessed with an endless stretch of white sandy beachfront as its stunning backdrop, the home takes much of its inspiration from Southeast Asia, fusing elements of traditional Balinese architecture with modern Western architecture. Due to the clients' love of travel, the home is infused with patterns and textures that interpret the island's rich heritage and respect of the arts and natural materials. Top floor clerestory windows provide natural ventilation while sustainable and low-maintenance building materials ensure longevity and sensitivity for the home and neighborhood.

The inviting walkstreet terrace and intimate interior Zen garden present a unique duality; their lush planting and unexpected fire and water elements reinforce a regional tradition of indoor/outdoor living and help to connect the many levels of the home - eventually leading to the prize at the top where special moments and lively gatherings take advantage of their lofty perch.
